"wow you married? I'd guess no cause my wife would smack me in the head for an idea like that. I guess I'll to live through you for a while!"

When married, make sure you give your other half the 'best of 2 choices'.
That means:
- Choice 1, going out with friends drinking, hit the booze in dirty bars..
- Choice 2, be at home, taking care of the fish, have a romantic time with only the fish-tank lights on and your wife on the couch..

Easy choice for her...What was your problem again Tidioute06?

Not married, so I have no one to answer to. Even when I was married, I did what I wanted in regard to tanks and fish. No, that wasn't the reason I got divorced.

On to better things:

Well, when life deals you some lemons, add some liquor and then make whatever you were working on BIGGER!

The fish room length overlaps the dining room and kitchen, so the dining room length is shorter than the fish room. In other words, the viewing window is going to have to be offset in the tank to the right side. In order to fit the viewing glass, I'm going to have to block the french doors from opening. Oh well, after I move everything out of the fish room I won't need them anyway. I could probably just remove them and close in the wall like it was before Katrina. It only had a small window in it. We'll see once I get everything out of the room.

I'll have a 36" of clearance on the left side and back of the tank. I just won't have any access on the right side except from above.

The good news:

The tank will now be 144x98x60 = 3665 gallons

Any internal filtration I want to add can be on the offset side out of view.

I know fish will swim out of sight, but it's just something I'll have to deal with.

The fish room is a mess, but relatively organized after I got rid of a bunch of tank projects over the last week or so.

Holy Moly, your statement: "Go BIG or Go Home!" is an understatement at best...
Your fish-room is your house or your house is really big..

You're giving MultipleTankSyndrome a whole new meaning....lol.
Now I got some catching up to do. My wife will love it.

Lol, and I just got rid of these tanks; 110, 72, 55, 20L, and 2 10s. I'm most likely going to get rid of everything under 75 gallons and keep those (3 75s, 2 90s, 110, 210) for breeding pairs when I want to get babies from them.

Just drooling at the idea of having that much space, time and tanks.
My 99 Gallon is making some progress, did you check it out lately? Last time I had comments from you was in December I think.

Unfortunately, before getting anymore tanks I'll have to make sure the wife stays happy first. Not a bad thing, most of it will be DIY-stuff which I really like to do. Best of both worlds, and every project will have some twist on it that it benefits me as well...lol
I'm just biding my time to get more space. Our house is not too big, so I'm outside with the tanks for now. But it will change over time..no hurry here.

It isn't really that I have that much space, but I have the house to do with what I want. Other than the tanks you saw, there's a 110 in the sunroom, 90 and 29 in the living room. The house is 2 story with 1980 sq. ft. living area.

I just checked out your 99. Looking good.

I'd trade some of my space for a good woman. Oh wait, if I met one off of here I wouldn't have to. LOL.

Here's a little drawing I did trying out Google Sketchup. I still don't have it figured out yet.

We're in the process of buying the house. Very good location and like the neighbourhood here.
Nice sunny weather all year, only drawback being the heat-trouble for my tanks. Get real hot with the lights on so chilling is a must.

Your tank will be interesting to watch though. My plans for garden outside will include some large pond 'on legs' with a window at the front. That would allow me some interesting fish and garden design.
That's also why your pond-liner tank is of interest for me.

Lol, my wife just asked (after looking at your fish-room pictures) if you had time for your wife?!...
But she's not unwilling to the idea of having more tanks as long as she gets the equivalent in shopping money...

Sales Tax (or VAT) is only 7% in Thailand...It's the Lady's Shopping Tax that makes Thailand so bloody expensive...

nolapete, what is the thickness of the glass pane that you will be using? will the glass be tempered? what type of lighting will you be using? will you be picking up some scuba gear for tank cleaning? what kind of time frame are you looking at for this project?
