I just wanted to let you guys know that I am making progress towards the restart of the pond project. This will not be the pond update you all want but it's got lots of pictures.
First of all, we took out the pond and filled it in the very next day! This is what it looks like today, the sun situation has not gotten much better & we really were not happy with the restricted space in that 18'x20' corner.
Now let's take a tour towards the area the pond will be located in.
We are working on adding fencing for the dogs & the pond so there will be a gate between those 2 posts.
The big propane tank will be leaving VERY soon! Also we made the garden square, it used to have a large bump out in the back.
There is the shed that is coming down.
There will be a fence/gate running from the deck (on the left) to the end of the solar panels closest to us in the photo. The fence runs all the way back to the other shed in the background.
Picture is taken right outside the garden, kinda around the shed that is coming down. Yes another shed, I will have to camouflage that one somehow. Fencing will run from the back of the white shed all the way to the garden.
That stump is going to be a PITA!
Moving around the shed
And all that fencing will be gone.
The total area for the pond and sitting area is about 40' x 50' so this will be a major upgrade. It is MAJOR work though too. With reconstructing the garden, putting up all that fencing, tearing down the shed which has an OLD concrete floor probably about 1' thick, digging that stump up AND all the other projects we have going on I am not sure the pond will even get put in this year. Which IS a bummer but it is going to be SO well worth it.
This area does get LOTS of sun though, close to 12 hours. How difficult is that gonna make my life?
Also how many pond plants actually need soil, besides lilies?
