Well times putting more of a crunch on me than I can handle at the moment. So that 240-300 gallon keeps being pushed back month after month. My next question is, how do the inflatable swimming pools handle up to the common pleco?

Ya clear because I have to see the fish, disease, being picked on etc. I have balas, tin foils, common and comet goldfish, 3 fantails and the 9" com pleco. I don't think the other fish hitting the side will do anything, its just the wondering of the pleco "sucking" on the side will do damage and if so how long.

The pastic they use on those things is usually pretty tough. In my opinion you'll be fine.

I mean, if your that unsure, you can always place it in a tupperware container.

I looked for those containers, I didnt see any 200 gallon ones haha. I got all these fish in a 55gal doing 80% changes 3 times a week. That pool would be a tremendous relief to them all if the pleco didnt destroy it. Hes a calm guy just dont need him to get over joyed and poke a hole.

Should'nt be a problem. For all the pleco's thorns, spikes, and serrated edges, they are usually pretty mellow. Also, most of the defences are arranged to keep them from being swallowed whole from behind. So unless he's backing up or thrashing a lot, he should'nt poke a hole through it. That being said, keep the repair kit nearby.

Might wanna see if you can reinforce the pool a little?

Btw, what do you feed your cold/tropical fish?

Well, everybody is thrown some Cichlid Gold and Hikari staple. The balas are still babies (2"-3") so they get tropical crisps and if they care goldfish variety pellt. Pleco gets his shrimp pellets, wafers and whatever he can find.

Well, I didn't know ju$t how $eriou$ly concerned you were about hole$ ... :nilly:... anyway, I vouch for the Rubbermaid "Stock Tanks" I'm using 3 of them, two 150gal and one 100gal as the mechanical portion of the filter for my pond. They are virtually indestructible and the 100's and 150's are reasonably priced IMO.

I agree.. the pleco will not puncture the rubbermaid tank.

I would be a bit concerned about the 'blow up' pool.

this is a common and could be one of those that gets to around 2 '.

they have weapons at the ends of their doral and pectral fins.
