My advice would be to try and save his poor livestock would be to convince him to at least check the ammonia levels every day for the next few weeks.

Hopefully he'll see it spiking, freak out, and finally listen to you.

I have a friend who has been crashing tanks for a couple of years, then tears it down and tries it a different way before it has time to settle in. Some of the things he has done just baffle me (he has nuked his tank twice with bleach). you would think he would learn or listen, but he refuses to do either. he calls it "thinking outside the box." Worse part is when he comes over and criticizes my tanks (mine have only been up for 6 yrs and I still have some of the same fish). Luckily he doesn't come over very often anymore (I think I made him mad when I said there would be no way in heck I would bleach my tank to get rid of the little bit of red slime I had). Good luck with your friend, hopefully he will come to his senses.

im just happy he atleast let me put his 80 dollar 8 greenheaded torch coral in my tank.. his fish are screwed i dont see itworkin out and i dont have room in my 14 gallon bio cube for them, its packed enough with corals and my baby goby clam shrimp hermits and picaso
