OK so I was wondering if its normal for these to have black eyes. I know the pic isn't great, but these tetras have solid black eyes, no silver circle around the pupil like I'm used to seeing on tetras. Anyone seen this?

Since this morning, but I've been watching them at the LFS for a couple of weeks before I decided to buy them. They are all like that (meaning the whole tank of them at the LFS). Maybe they aren't pristellas?

Any clearer pics? I'm confused with their looks. They don't look like pristellas to me but the pics can't tell me properly their looks.

I only have a cell phone camera. Maybe this one is better. Sorry about the dirty glass, I was doing a WC this morning.

I've never seen anything like this before. The fins clearly indicate it is a pristella but I don't think I've seen the black spot in the middle of their flanks and then the completely black eyes.

I think that these fish are being passed off as pristella tetras but in reality they may be a combination of a pristella with another kind of tetra fish. What other kind of tetra fish? That is a mystery.

I also thought of this but didn't include this since I haven't heard of a single hybrid case in characins before but there could always be a first time.

Wow!! Wow!! I am glad I am not the only one who thought of this. There is always a first time for everything I guess.
