Although I am not seriously going to do it now, since i don't have the room (or floor capacity) for it right now, i've been looking at large tanks. One thing i noticed, is a few of them specify proffessional movers only. Anyone have a ballpark of what a professional mover charges for moving a 200g aquarium and stand within a 2hr area?

pshhh.....you and a couple friends/relatives can easily carry a 200g tank.

It took 5 people to carry my 720g acrylic tank to its spot.

I have always moved my tanks, 120, 125, 150 and currently 180gallon with my brother. I wouldnt personally trust anyone else with my tanks. Thats just me though.

be that as it may, what i am trying to figure it where the break even point on a cheaper movers only tank vs one i can get myself. if its going to cost 500 to have it moved, then i certainly wouldn't pay non mover rate with movers on top of it. moving it is much less a problem then dealign with people who insist on certain conditions.

Im not sure what you're getting at. There is not such thing as a "professional movers only tank"

actually, there are. I meant as in used tanks, for example, this one:

where the seller specificly states he'll sell only if its picked up by professional movers. I've seen a couple of restrictions like that in ads, so whiel it might not be common, I tohuhht it bore looking into. annoying yes, but if the tank is cheap enough with the movers fee, then its still not a bad deal.

the guy probably doesn't want hacks breaking it and leaving glass all over his floor.

the breaker here is probably that he/she not only doesnt want broken glass, but also doesnt want someone breaking it and trying to get their money back because it was still on their property.
