PROJECT 210

Why do you want to add salt?

I've started adding salt to the aquarium... how much do you recommend I add per gallon... per day? week? month?

I've also purchased a hydrometer, but the levels are still not detectable.

Refractometers are much better but pricier...

Thats cool your going to do brackish, a group of monos looks awsome. Which kind, the sebae or argentinus?

Cool... I didnt happen to see Monos in any of the pics so thats why I asked. BTW you might whant to reference a post number instead of page number, as you can change the number of posts to display per page, for example your whole thread is only 2 pages in my view (40 posts per page). Keep up the good work man.

oh right on... well its post 68 & 69 for those of you who would like to view.

Wow, that's going to be so cool! For accuracy, I would absolutely recommend a refractometer. I have one for my SW tanks and it makes my hydrometer look like a bad joke it is so inaccurate. The good Drs. have one for around 50 bucks, I think, and there's always Ebay.

What SG are you going for- I'm trying to remember but isn't brackish somewhere around 1.010? I think the easiest way to do this would be to mix up some SW, and when you top the tank off for evap, just top it off with SW. That is sure to raise SG nice and slow, right? You don't want to do it too fast, as I'm sure you already know. And grab that refracto! lol.
