Project Great Wall o' Tanks

Not yet I've been monkeying around with my pond filter the past few nights. Hopefully going to get the tank set in the new frames tonight, if I can bribe my friends with beer to help me move it.

Well, I made a ton of progress this weekend....but you're all going to me mad because even though I took a bunch of pictures, my computer has decided to stop talking to my camera so they're stuck there for now.

Anyway, I got all thy drywall cut and hung, and did the first round of tape and seam last night. We also kilz'ed all the room walls (that crappy purple sponge paint) and started painting that as well. The only downside right now is that I can't see any of my tanks because I taped plastic bags over the holes to keep dust out of the tanks while I'm sanding and painting, but hopefully I'll get everything done soon and can take them down. I picked up the paint for the wall as well, going to be a nice dark blue. Anyway, things are looking good and finally coming together, even though you can't see it :D

Oh yeah...then I think about the coming bills for a new couch, new TV, new stereo receiver since we're redoing that entire room...what fun lol. It will be really nice when its finished though. But it will be nice to have the fishwall aspect of it completed. The only longer-running issue will be running the plumbing for the drip system. I don't want to waste a lot of time before getting that it, because its going to cut my maintenance time in half at least.

sounds awesome. we'll be watching!

Oh wow what a project !! I can not believe I just saw this thread ! I am so looking forward to the nest set of pictures!!

Wow, I forgot about this thread! What an amazing looking wall of tanks. The title makes me think of the great wall of china with tanks along it all the way

I love all of your tanks, especially the 55g and the brackish. I also like your 150g, it's quite nice. Now if only I had the ressources and supplies to make a tank look as good as some of yours :wall:

*gasp* I started reading through this entire thread today (while I was in my electronic design class) and wow! This is awesome! Of course I wasn't paying attention to the dates of all the posts but now I'm at the end and its not even finished. Now I'm hooked too, can't wait to see more pictures

Still no pictures, but I put all the wood frames in the windows last night and plastered them in. Lots of sanding to do but I think it will be paintable by this weekend. I just can't believe its finally getting close to finished.

Nice! It's good when you're done all the work and it's sometimes disapointing when you know you won't be able to do anything else with it for a while, but now you get to sit back and enjoy it. I would see if you can special order a comfy chair that elevates a few feet so you can look at all of the tanks :grinyes:
