Thanks all, I'm glad to have it done up to this point...its nice to be able to enjoy my fish for a change.

Just a quick question for you: What type of wood is that in your bottom right tank, and where'd you pick it up? It's pretty close to what I'm picturing in my head for my aquascape.

Oh, and I'm jealous...wish I had my own place so I could do some remodeling :) Looks great!

Its the type that comes from my parents woodpile :) I think its most likely oak or maple, it sat outside for probably 3 years. I needed some big chunks so thats where I went. I've have good success using seasoned wood that I find outside, I just scrape all the bark off and hose it down really well. Works great if you don't mind tannins for a while.

Congratulations sploke! You've finally did it! :D It looks great!
What do you plan on putting in that 120?

Its a 150, its going to be an asian biotope. Gouramis, rasboras, maybe some smaller barbs, lots of small loaches, and some glass cats. Also lots of java fern, some taller stem plants for the back, and lots of crypts.

all it needs is little title cards like at the aquarium!

Well the idea of the wall was to make it as simple and featureless as possible as to not detract attention from the tanks, which are the main focus. What I'm going to do is put together a "spec sheet" for every tank with plant and fish species, info about the biotope, etc, and get it bound and put it on the coffee table. That way if someone visits and wants to know about the tanks, they can just look through that.

Just a fantastic project! Totally inspirational!

Really nice job sploke, I was just thinking of your idea. Id take it further than tank specs even maybe a build progresion page or scrap book of the build as well.

Looks excellent sploke!

Good call FWF...I still have all the build pics, I can put in progress pics/before and afters as well.

you have to. thats the only way to do the finished product justice. Anyone would be like wow awesome tanks. but to see the open hole to a Wall O Tanks is the best. I like to re-flip thru the thread for b4 and after lol. But im a noob.

Congrats again. And dont forget the before and after, and tank specs book.

That's a great idea. Someday I hope to something similar.

What's a biotope?

Gouramis are my favorite fish! :D My first fish was a gold gourami and then I moved onto dwarf gouramis. I bred some really nice ones a couple of years ago in a 30g. Flames with normals with neon blues and powder blues. Came out with some unique bright orange with neon blue stripped ones but they all passed away about a year ago. I keep having bad luck with them. They keep getting these body sores that are sort of like ulcers. :(

What gouramis do you plan on getting? Can't wait to see pics of them! :)
