Hi guys,

I was told about this 'python' system for water changes which sounds really amazing.. Basically its a dual system for taking water out and having it go straight down the drain in your sink via a 25ft hose and then youv can connect the hose directly to your tap (faucet) and fill the tank back up without needing any buckets.. Sounds like it would take all the hassle out of water changes especially large ones..

I have looked for this product on UK aquatic stores and cant find anyone who stocks it..? Anyone in the UK got one of these?

I may be able to get one shipped from petco but im unsure if it will connect to my tap (faucet) Anyone know what kind of connections it fits? Is it universal and will fit all faucets?

I'd really appreciate anyone giving me whatever info they have about this product especially anyone using it in the UK..

Cheers

You can get them in the uk but it's not easy, i had to get my lfs to order one for me at a cost of £60. After seeing how they work i came to the conclusion i could DIY one for a fraction of the cost.

Do they sell waterbeds in the UK? the Python is the same design as a waterbed filler/emptier.

Most places that sell w/beds in the US carry the unit.

I was thinking the same thing.. If I just got a hose from homebase and the connection for my tap thats getting the water into the tank problem solved..

and then with regards to siphoning out..I already have one of those air lock gravel filter siphons which I could just attach to the new length of hose and thats another problem solved...

Yes and you could save yourself £40-£50

happy days because I was going to splash the cash because I need it badly but never really thought about how easy it is to make.. Cheers for the tip!

thanks for that link... What im thinking of doing is simpler again..

To fill the tank im just gonna buy a length of hose to reach my tap and then obviously the necessary connection..So that solves the problem of filling the tank..

Then for taking the tank water out im just going to attach a longer piece of hose (1m) to my existing gravel filter and put the end of it out my window which is beside the tank... The water being taken out will run down the roof into the gutter...
