Python questions

Does anyone know where I can get a Python in the UK? Or at least find a shipper to the UK?

I first saw this in one of my Cichlid books, it was like a page advertisement with some woman from the late 70's on it. Made with PRIDE in America. I need a Python.

Thanks.

If it gets complicated trying to get one shipped to the UK just make one urself.

This is a great DIY project. Mine is just about finished. The only thing I am waiting on is the waterbed drain kit.

Well, it looks like I'll start pricing Pythons (or checking out the alternative). I'm not handy enough or confident enough to make one myself. Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm not confident in making one either.

Problem is...can't find it in the UK.

There are a couple on ebay. But the postage is CRAZY. Probably because of the big tube.

Source me a UK or even European supplier and I'll be your Forum Guppy for life.

I was uncomfortable about making one as well. But I could not bring myself to spend the extra money to buy a python. I went to home depot and it was easily the best money I have spent on fish keeping. I spent total of 34 Dollars on supplies (could have easily done it for less I just bought more expensive stuff). It took me about 10 minutes to fill up a 78 gallon tank and about 15 to drain it. I found a link on here to a really good DIY python and it was so easy.

Things to consider: My farthest tank is 15 feet away from the sink. Thinking of the future I purchased a 50 foot Python. Because of the length and I think because the sink is almost level to the tanks my drain rate is slowwwwwwwww. I went to a friends and he starts the siphon with the water on and then turns it off and the drain continues. I cannot turn off the water or it will stop siphoning. I think the business end that Python sells is cheap crap, sorry to be so blunt. I made a new one out of hose fittings and a car radiator flush kit. This helped but I still think the length is killing me. Currently I drain with buckets and fill with the python.

One other thing, if you have sand substrate remove the "vacuum" and use the hose directly, it works much better for cleaning.

Good to know. I don't currently have sand, but I want to in the future.

Best piece of equipment I have ever seen or owned for this hobby!
