Python siphons...............

well now...back to the original topic here......

Pythons.....looks like I may just have to get one for myself.....I do the bucket slog and this method keeps me from getting any more tanks...lol...I just don't have the time with 3 kids demanding my attention to be changing water in any more tanks...!!

Right now I have a 29 (my largest)...3-10 gallon tanks...2-5 gallons, a 2 gallon quaranteen, 5-1 gallons with bettas, a 15 gallon underneath the 29 with a crop of baby rams in it.....I think that's it !

Question I have is....water temp....I have read that it's a bad idea to use warm water from the tap as there are more dissolved minerals and "stuff" in the warm water than there is in cold water. I have been filling 2-2 gallon buckets with cold tap water...letting them sit then pouring them into a 5 gallon, where I add the salt and conditioner....THEN...after it sits for a day or so I pour that into a 10 gallon which has a heater in it .....(pant....pant....pant !!)..... This actually has been working fine for me but I fill those two gallon buckets at LEAST once a day...sometimes twice !

Is it really OK to just run water straight from the tap into your tank ?? Do you use a digital thermometer to check the water temp...and just adjust it from the tap ?

This thing just sounds too easy to be true !! LOL !! There just HAS to be a catch !

Now....my tap is one of those one handle jobs....no seperate hot and cold handles.....do you find that your gh or kh...change with hot or cold from the tap ? I don't have a test kit for either of those parameters....though I do intend to get them some time in the not too distant future....so I can't check mine right from the tap at present to see for myself...
