I like this idea, I have about 4 or 5 baby java ferns growing off a leaf in my tank and have been wondering what to attach them onto. Thanks for the tip.

That is a great idea, my plants drove me crazy before roots got established in the substrate. I am so glad I saw this post. I will have no fear planting new tank, lol
