Question on Cycling.

AMMONIA is 0 on both tanks

nitrates 0 on both tanks

nitrites 0 on the 29 gallon. and minimal on the 15. so glad those water changes worked.

Good job!

well i dont know what the hell happened. i have lost 9 neon tetras. a cory, 2 glo tetras. my waters were fine...

no in my 29 gallon nitrite is .25. ammonia .50
in my 15 gallon nitrite is .50 and ammonia is 1.0.

im sick of this. i just wanna stop this hobby now. i just dont know what to do :(

it can take a while for a tank to cycle. several weeks...

it can also take a tank a while to catch up if you add a bunch of fish all at once.

be patient. salvage what you have and add a little bit at a time.

(i didnt read anything before this page)

ya i took my time adding fish :( i did take fish outta one tank and into the other. so i lightened one load and heavied another.

that means waiting a few weeks in between adding new fish...

also, are you sure the filtration you have is adequate for the load in the tank? i had a problem with a 29. it had a 6"+ pleco in it a long with several other fish. the pleco produced more waste than the filter could handle. needless to say, the tank kept having spikes and crashes and algae blooms and bacterial blooms. once we moved the pleco to a larger tank and added an extra filter, the water has become stable and clean.
