Corys would be ok as long as they are bigger and they have plenty of places to hide. If you have small ones less tha 2" I would not suggest it. Also w/ play sand rinse it very well then vac it to get the small particles out. Also plants do not do well in sand since it is very compact no nutrients can get to the roots.
Just to clarify, I said I wouldnt use them because they have caused more problems for me than what they're worth. Imo = In My Opinion, Ime = In My Experience. I have been keeping fish for 11 years and I've kept everything from goldfish to discus to L046 zebra plecos, and have spawned firemouths among others. Peace.
Got my firemouth this morning...currently in a 10 gallon until I get my 29 within the week. very pale colors right now; it's definitely a juvenile but I have no idea what sex. I'll post pics soon
HELP! my firemouth hasn't moved from behind the large pastic plant. He/She just sits there fanning its fins but not really swimming; more like resting on the sand. Is this normal at all? When I purchased the fish, they were all doing the same thing in the store. Could it be stress from the move?
