Questions about Nano Tank Setup

I agree with the hairy mushroom, I have one that split into 2 and now takes up a major space in my 24 pod. Carefull with clowns though they will tear a hair shroom apart that is why my nemo is gone for good.

Did you have a Maroon clown? I know they can be aggressive. Some anemones don't even survive their "love".

but the one I gave the link to says peaceful ?

I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be difficult. I know I'm asking for your advice and you are giving it. and I do appreciate that :)

I would consider your source of information. Keep in mind that you are using a store's profile. They may give slightly inaccurate information to appeal to customers. For example. That fact that they listed the size as 2"-4" which mislead you is a sign that their information might not be accurate. I also question their "Float Bag" acclimation procedure recommendation. I think everyone can agree that isn't the way you introduce inverts to a tank.

I see that, I don't agree with the info they listed in that regard. Anemones are typically semi aggressive or aggressive in nature. That doesn't mean that they are going to prey on things, but they have sticky tentacles that can trap a nano sized fish and turn it into dinner, sting other inhabitants, they can create chemical wafare at times. I also note they list the Condy as being a great host for clowns. I'm not aware of any clownfish type that typically uses a condy as a host. Sure it could happen but it isn't something I'd have listed on a info sheet about them as they did.

Whether you keep an anemone is entirely up to you of course. I really can appreciate wanting the vivid colors of some of the marine life available. I think you need a bigger system for the anemones you'll like and if you need to keep to a smaller nano you'll need to adjust what you'd put in it by deciding what it is that attracts you to anemones and then search for those charactertistics in stock better suited for a 10-15g tank.

Great advice. There are so many corals and inverts out there that I am sure you can find a better alternative for a nano instead of an anemone.
