I just moved and setup my new corner flow 90 gallon tank. This is my first time using a wet/dry filter. The tank is set up in my bedroom. It is louder than I thought it would be. I have made the pump a little quieter by putting a filter sponge underneath it so, its not vibrating off the bottom of the sump. Is there a way to make the dripping noises in the sump and overflow quieter? What if I add more water to the tank? Will that raise the water level in the sump so it barely touches the bio balls and creates no gap for the water to fall? Is there a way to make the overflow quieter? Maybe my filter isn't setup properly? Is my first time, ya know. Help! Thanks in advance for any responses.

I put filter media where the water first came into the tank (above the bio balls) and also I put some in the overflow itself. I also lowered the rate of my pump.

This all helped, but it was fairly loud. My pump stopped working and I just replaced it with two fluvals.

I am not sure if you can make it quiet enough for a bedroom. If you do put extra media in, be sure to rinse it when doing water changes, the last thing you need is that clogged up.

I would be careful with adding water. You want enough water in your set up that if the power goes out that it does not over flow.

Thanks will do. I'm gonna raise the water level.:)
It is a corner overflow. Is there any way to make the overflow quieter? What if I put a filter sponge on top of the intake and outtake so the water falls on the sponge in the overflow? Would that work? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just figuring out what design elements I may include... skecthed out plans for the stand today at work. I dont know if this is a sumb question, but if I were to seal off the cabinet, line it with some material like subwoofer carpeting, would I have a problem with moiture buildup in the cabinet from the sump tank (I mean theres going to be lots of things plugged in and wiring in there). Would it be better to make sure the cabinet is vented or is it of little consequence?

I'm curious too. If it works I'll do it.
