i saw some rainbow sharks at petco today i thought these were something else but they were black with red fins and tail
are these the same as the loach that is blue with red fins? are they aggressive like the red tail shark?
also said they get 6 inches is this true

same as the loach not the redtail shark so a little aggessive are they a big 6 inch or like a skinny 6 inch the ones they had looked 4-5 inch
are they dyed

Is this what you mean by the 'blue loach with red fins", Redtail Botia Loach (Botia modesta). It's a 'true' loach and different from the Rainbow Shark and Redtail Shark. The Rainbow Shark and Redtail Shark are very similar in personality etc.

Although related red tail sharks and rainbow sharks aren't the same species. But basically there kept the same, though the rainbow might be a touch less aggressive then the red tail.

based on my sig could i get a rainbow shark or is a 55gal too small

you could keep a redtail in a fifty five, not yours though. Those kissers have to go if you want to have room for anything else

few things,
they are not related to the loach
they are to the red tail shark and act pretty much the same, agressive to conspecifics and look alikes
they will fit in a 55
the kissing gouramis wont
and before adding new fish i would add more of the same that you have.

pheww.....

Rainbow sharks need lots of hiding space and are agressive some times. I wouldn't see any problem in keeping a rainbow shark in a 55 g
