Rams are small, peaceful cichlids which like plants and warm water (82-88F), many are also on the delicate side depending on where they are from. A firemouth could beat the pants off a ram and potentially eat it.
Originally posted by meangene714 I currently have rams and firemouths in my 100g community. They are all juvenile, so I don't know what will happen when they get older/bigger.
Rams are small South American cichlids, Firemouths are mid-sized Central American cichlids. Water conditions, temperaments, diet, and preferred tankmates are not at all compatible. Tell us what size tank you have and what else you want to keep in it, and we can tell you which of the two species will be the best match.
