I discovered I have baby angelfish this week and despite my better judgement I'm going to give it a shot at raising them. Anybody recommend a good commercial brine shrimp hatchery? Thanks,
Alicia

that looks pretty good. I think I just want to buy something though! Thanks for the link though, I may have to improvise something if I can't get a set-up purchased soon enough.

Oh, and does one use marine salt or just regular NaCl with these little buggers? Thanks!!

p.s. holy mackerel that sea salt is expensive!

I hatch bbs in a jug using kosher salt and an air stone. A turkey baster and a paper coffee filter are recommended accessories.

The eggs should hatch in about 24 hours at about 80 dg F (longer in cooler water). To feed, turn off the air stone and wait a couple of minutes, the shrimp go down and the shells float up. Us the baster to get the bbs out, use the coffee filter to strain them out of the sw and feed away.

One note- bbs lose their nutritional value in about 24 hours, so you need to hatch new ones continuously.I use a two jug system and start them 24 hours apart.

Which airpump that you use with it? Are you happy with it? :)

Not sure of the brand of pump i use; one I got at PetSmart (has an adjustable output. Used it with a tee to run both the hatchery and the sponge filter.

As for the salt, I used some "Aquarium" salt I had sitting around. Bought it when I first started, people at PetSmart said I "needed" it....
