I know the danios are a schooling fish as that is what I started with a year ago-8 long fin danios from petco. Ew@petco! Over time they have died off and these are the only two that have held on. I don't really want to add more because, well, I don't want danios. Is that horrible--do I absolutely need to have more danios for them? The plect is supposedly one that does not get any larger than 4 inches. I got him from a reputable lfs that deals ONLY with fish and have been in the business longer than I have been on this earth. I trust them; however, they told me that he is a Bush Nose Pleco and for some reason, I don't think that he is. He's a new addition as means of algae control and he's the most social pleco of the 4 that I have (other tanks). I totally ♥ the little guy. Right now I do believe he's fine in the ten but in any case these fish will all be moved to a 20 gallon tank as soon as I'm able to get rid of all my convict babies. *Mumbles something about fish doing the deed much too frequently* I almost have to disagree with you about the tank being over stocked, but I will not do that as I am no expert. I test the water every Saturday and I have never had an issue with the water parameters. Also, rams being their sensitive selves--I would think if it were over stocked and unhealthy he likely wouldn't be alive. I don't know. *sigh* Thanks for your opinion. I'm definitely going to try to figure out the pleco situation. I plan to post pictures of him as soon as I can get a good one of him to see if anyone can help me identify his type.
