Reef log/Diary

:grinyes:Well here's the full tank shot you wanted!!

We spent the majority of the afternoon stripping everything down and this time we've put in weir boxes. You wouldn't believe the amount of silicone we've used - just in case. I keep saying we, but I have to hand it to Tim, he's done a fantastic job and there is no way i could have managed without him.

Some of the corals are in with Titch the others are in the tub with the fish and the rock.

By Friday the silcone should have dried thoroughly and we'll put everything back!!! Tim did threaten to come round at 7am but luckily enough he has to do another job and will be with me at 9am!!!

I am so lucky to an LFS like Tim!!!

Very sorry to hear about the leak. Sounds like you and your lfs do have it under control. I look forward to seeing it back to it's former glory. Do you plan on making any changes to your reefscape? If it were me I could'nt resist. Anyway, hope everything goes smooth. Thanks for the update and pics, your tank is even nice empty!

Definately planning on a rescape. My toadstool is so big now that I'm going to have that on one side of the tank rather than in the middle. I'll then put the other softies around it and the hard corals the other end with a bit of rock in between.:grinyes:

Well, we finally got everything back in and up and running. Unfortunately there have been a few casualties.

I'm laying blame at Thermidor my lobster!!! Whilst there haven't been any issues with him in the main tank, I think the holding tank was too cramped what with the live rock and everything and not enough space for everyone to escape his clutches unless they were small enough to hide in rocks.

The worst off is unfortunately Mrs Bangaii. As some of you may know, she lost her partner a few weeks ago and hasn't been the same since. Having her tail end chomped off hasn't helped either.:uhoh:

Grumpy (LMB) has a nick out of his tail fin but otherwise doing fine.

Even Trigger has a chunk missing out of his tail fin as does Honey (yellow Tang).

I thought I'd lost the urchin but he his now on the move again, but i haven't seen my coco worm come out since the move.

I've decided that if Mrs Bangaii doesn't make it, then Titch (her baby) is going to be moved into the main tank along with Randall and Hopkirk (shrimp/goby pair) and the 2 sexy shrimp can go in the sump. I'll then strip down and sell off the "love shack" .

Here's a piccie of how the tank looks now.

Wow, that was quite the ordeal. Sorry to hear about the leak. You are fortunate to have Tim able to help out. When I had the plumbing done on my new tank it took several weeks to get an "appointment". I like the toadstool off to the side, the aquascape looks very natural. Hope all goes well with Mrs Bangaii.

Unfortunately Mrs Bangaii didn't make it. She's been sat at the bottom of the tank with no tail and no fins and pop eye. I wasn't able to reach her until yesterday when I removed her and had to euthanise her.

A sad day. :tombstone:
