Okay so I went to my LFS and they owner asked me if I could take an old Angel off his hands...? He was overstocked and getting a shipment in tomorrow (Tuesday) and was looking at a worse-case scenario.

Of course I said yes, but I feel comfortable with my setup to do so.

So my Q is based on my stocking - 75G 2 Veil Angels, 6 Boesemani Rainbows; 2 Blue Rams; 5 Spotted Corys; 5 Julie Corys; 4 Green-Gold Corys; 4 Otos; 2 Flame Gouramis; 1 Bristlenose Pl*co:

...am I pushing this too much?

After introducing him to the tank (he is a fully grown 7-8" veil-angel) I would say things looked good, but you know how you get a feel for things after doing this hobby for a while? Well I got this "feeling" that this was at the limit of what this tank can handle (if not overmuchso).

What do you guys think? It was this or euthanize, and I know that that it is better in some situations to do so, especially if it disrupts the balance of a system, but I am interested in your thoughts!

I will keep things under observation, but the angels are all in harmony atm and swimming together beautifully! :)

Thanks CT~

I'd just keep an eye on the nitrates....wouldn't consider euthanizing such a grand old fish. You may well be overstocked, but with your usual good care you'll likely be fine. Time will decrease the stock for you naturally.

PS - good job saving the fish. That's really cool that they haning together - despite all of them being full grown. One of my angels was a mercy purchase - tucked away in a back tank, forgotten, neglected as the LFS was remodeling (actually, they're still remodeling - not sure if I truly believe they'll get their act together ever again which is sad).

You're lucky it isn't just all-out war in there! I've not had much success introducing new angels when there are other angels that have established themselves... but I certainly would have done what you did in that situation. I really hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the comments and words of advice.

I'm VERY anxious to see how things turned out today. I've had them in a blackout while I'm at work (just keeping the lights off), so I hope that helps.

I will certainly keep everyone posted and I will snap a few images too! ;)

Is he the 2nd angel of the 2 you have listed or in addition to them?

There doesn't appear to be anything in the tank that will be nippy on him, so just watch him with the other angel(s). You may see some sparring, but I think that he'll settle in fine.

Pictures as promised!!!

They all seem to be getting along great! :D

The one I saved is the largest and is the size of my hand. the other 2 I got two months ago between a quarter and a silver dollar in size (they've doubled in size) :)

Very pretty

The other Angels probably don't pick on him as he's a monster compared to the others. Haha.

WOW! What a beauty. I can't believe that is a fish that no one wanted. Kudos to you for doing what it takes to rescue that poor fish.
