So today me and my wife went to see family. While she was at her sisters house this little girl shows up with a little baby Robin. The little girl had been down by the river playing with some other kids. They got to close to a bird nest and the parent birds started to dive at them to scare them away from the nest. The kids decided to fight back and smashed the nest. All we know is that this little girl managed to bring one of the baby birds back alive. My wife, being the healer she is took it upon herself to try to save the birds life. So now we are sitting with a baby robin and trying to figure out how to feed and care for this unfortunate little soul. I took an empty ten gal tank and put some pete moss on the bottom and I have a tight fitting screen top to keep the cats out. She is smashing up a cricket right now to try to get him/her to eat something from a dropper and we are going to provide a little bowl of water. In the morning we are going to call a friend who runs the local bird refuge and see what we can do from there. Due to it's young age, it may not be possable to re-release the bird into the wild after being raised by humans. We'll see. If we have to raise the bird as a pet we will.
Anyone know anything about caring for birds? Any advice welcome. We just want to see this little guy survive. I feal just horable for this little bird.
Well AC, thanks for reading,
Caleb
