It sure was great to find this site because all I seem to have is problems. I decided to give my goldfish some cut up peas for a treat but that led to problems. You see my gravel is green and white and when he was foraging he got a piece of green gravel stuck in his mouth. Now what do I do? He seems to be trying to spit it out but nothing is happening.

I'm afraid I can't answer your questions, but now I'm a little freaked out: how did you figure out it had a rock stuck in its mouth? Did you see this happen, or was it just really obvious that one was in there?

How long has he had it stuck in his mouth? Mine do that too sometimes. Usually they can work it out.

Now we know. This has happened to someone else before. Except the gravel was bigger and it didnt come out after a long while. I belive he netted it out, put it in a towl, used his fingers to open the mouth, used twesers(sp?) and took it out that way. Its not easy and can be dangerous. The best thing to do is not let it happen in the first place.
