Rock In Mouth

Yup,

Kasakato's right - net (fine mesh ;) ) wet towel, tweezers, hair pin and lots of patience and nerves of steel  It can be done, but its easier on the nerves (and the fish) if the gravel is too small to cause problems (if its too big they're likely to grow and then it could be a problem )

Im glad I found this post. My two fancy gf's very frequently try to eat gravel, though I havent seen this happen yet. Shortly after I moved to my new apartment I kept hearing this scraping sound every night when I was trying to go to sleep. I hadnt had my gf in my bedroom until I moved and eventually I found out that it was my fish going down and chomping at the gravel.... when they did this it would push against other gravel but mainly against the glass of the tank and make a really weird noise. It doesnt seem to have created any problems but at least now I know the process if it ever does happen.

Thanks!

My goldfish sucks in gravels and spits them back out all the time. It is obvious that your gravels are too big for your goldfish - duh. (Your goldfish will out-grow it in no time.) I think the green pea has nothing to do with this.
