Rubber Lip Pleco

Any one else have these little cuties? I picked up 2 yesterday and love how they look, im just disapointed at how shy they are acting today :/

I thought they'd be fighting over my driftwood covered in hair algae.

Give 'em time to settle in first. In my experience plecos can go one of two ways...either they are completely active or they are reclusive and shy.

I've got two of them they definately cute little guys...one is very active one kind of shy. they are great though

Yea I wasn't to sure because my old plecos would be out and about, fighting over the log that sits under my filters output. Then again, my old pleco's were 5 inches long and not 3/4" like these guys.

I enjoy watching fish grow from being small

I buy all my fish as juvies.

I got one he's about 2.5 inches long. He hides most of the time during the day and comes out at night.

I see mine about once a week, generally in the evening/at night he'll briefly come out and suck/scoot the circumference of the aquarium, and then I don't see him again for another week. Unless I peek in the back looking for him, I know he always hides underneath my pre-filter sponge.

Finally saw him out tonight! I guess the mass amount of algae tempted both of them out, yet the other went into hiding after seeing my camera. though the baby decided to continue munching away on his log. Lol

And I got where he likes to hide during the day.

I was laughing at how hard he was munching the algae. He had his whole head moving up and down going back and forth on the log. The other one made a nice little clear spot on the wall where he was eating.

I agree, I love getting my fish as juvies and watching them grow. Most of my pleco's seem to come out more as they get bigger, thou there are some that always seem to be shy.
