SA cichlids

Nice SA cichlids

You should mabey try some Rams or a couple of Flag cichlids. It really depends on your tank size. These should stay fairly small.

I have grown fond of the Jurupari that I have had a couple months. Very nice looking fish, but needs large tank and a lot of filtering.

They pick at the substrate and can kickup alot of debris...

1 - Purple Chocolate
1 - Salvani
1 - Blood Purple Parrot
1 - Tire-tread eal
1 - Gold Jaguar

I notice that you have a parrot fish as well. Is that pretty nice? I have always liked them, but when you see them in stores they never look the way they should. do they require anything special? Thanks

I like red terror's they are great, but you would need a big tank and they are fairly aggressive.

I have been trying to get a Jurupari but every store I go to does not have them, nor can they get them in. It must not be their season. I think I want to stay clear of things such as red devils. Does anybody know how to find out how many gallons your tank has by using the demensions?

I found a store that had German Blue Rams and I bought a male and am going to buy a female next week. He said that they have had them for a while and that they got them from somebody trading them in so they wouldnt encounter the problems most rams have. They also have the Jurupari there, so next week when I go back Im going to buy one of those too, they are small so its even better. Thanks everybody for your help and suggestions.

well im really fond of my JD cause every morning he is up swimming and waiting for me to feed him and he will bite my finger if i put it in their and he is alot different than the other JD i had a while ago

Uarus. I like them because they are not belligerent to other fishes, but can still be tough when they have to. I keep my pair of subadults with a school of rummynose tetras, a single geriatirc glowlight tetras and a half dozen corydoras. They all get along great. A fullgrown pair needs a minium of 55g tank.

I have Blood Purple Parrot fish that my girls call Angelina...Great fish that can hold it own with it's aggresive SA mates.

It just took over a cave occupied by a Texas Cichlid that can get nasty.

Look for a Parrot Fish with no black spots...Mine was about 2in when purchased, it is now about 4 - 5inches, no black spot, bright orange with beautiful spots on fins
