I have a large sally light foot crab, and I just found her eating some red seaweed/kelp stuff that was growing on my live rock. So I always thought they were reef safe until now, unless she's just really hungry?

Sally's can and will take small fish if they get a chance. In larger tanks not as much of a problem as in smaller tanks where other food source are usually less. I know some people that have had them for years with no problems and a couple of others that lost small fish to them( ie firefish).
They are opportunistic...they are safe as long as they aren't hungry and tempted by something you'd rather them not eat.
Ah ok, she does try to go after my smaller clownfish sometimes but never caught any fish yet. I try to keep her fed so she doesn't eat anything else but she is always hungry!

yup. they are suposedly reef safe, but similar to grins, i just dont trust crabs... I also think there are things that are much better algae eaters (IE: mexican turbos and sea hares) than sally light foots or emeralds.
