new fish!!!
so fate seemed to bring me to a lfs yesterday, it is a store that i haven't been to for about 6 months but i have membership to it that gets me 10% off purchases (including fish). i had no intentions of buying a fish when i went into the store but i could not pass these beauties up! so introducing my new show piece fishies... :dance:

the pics don't do justice, the male expecially is just fantastic.
they are still a little shy and hanging out in the back of the tank, partially because my dog stalks the tank and leaps at any fish that swims out in front (i don't know what to do about that..?) i don't know what his deal is he never cared about the tank before (the 37g).
everyone seems to be doing great! we're getting a lot of algae on the acrylic but it comes off really easily. we'd like to add a orange linkia star in to the mix soon and some more snails. we did get 2 red footed snails which are different and kinda cool looking.
the skimmer doesn't seem to be doing much... i don't know if it's just that there isn't a lot of load on the tank or if it's not set right..?

no i still plan on getting the midas blenny, infact it's been ordered for me... im going to see if they'll hold it for a bit, if not they'll have to order another one at a later date.
Nice looking angels. I look forward to reading posts for the next few months to see how they do!

it'll be nice when he is more comfortable and comes out in front so i can get a better shot of him. one major problem is my dog titan. he is TOTALLY OBSESSED with the tank now! he is crazy about the angels right now (because they are new) so he is totally stalking them.
he is pretty much like that all day. i have nose prints all over the tank. and he jumps up on the tank too when the female angel comes out front. he used to jump at the wrasse and the royal gramma too so i guess it's getting better...
i did get some neat shots of the female angel having "peeps" my fire shrimp clean her.
she would swim up and flare out her gills and peeps would clean all in the gills and around. it was really neat to watch. i've seen my skunk cleaner clean my yellow watchman in my bio-cube but this was cooler! i've not seen either of my shrimp in this tank clean a fish before, only the neon goby gets to do any cleaning. my fire shrimp actually seemed reluctant to clean the angel at first - i almost think he was confused!

Tell Titan a firm NO and give him a toy to play every time he jumps. It might help.

Angels! Awesome. I saw one I want yesterday in a local's tank. Gorgeous and well behaved. I'm toying with the idea of adding one when I upgrade.
i am loving the new swallowtails. the male is coming out a bit more today, he has wandered out when my dog was sleeping the female loves grazing on the rocks, she is pretty much doing this all day long. they both love going in and out of the rocks. they like to go through all the holes in the rocks, even through spots i think are much too small for them to fit through. im glad i have the rockwork set up like i do, it seems perfect for them! right now they are both out in front playing around, the new wrasse is up in front with them. im so happy with my new fish!
