x3ro, yes, try to vary the diet. Frozen foods you keep in the freezer and take out a cube or cubes as you need them. I drop mine in a disposable cup with some water (I use tap, but many use tank), let it melt (takes only a couple of minutes) and then I slowly pour it into the tank. With veggies, I cut a slab of zucchini about 2-3" long, slice it in half lengthwise, stick a fork in it to keep it from floating, then put it on the bottom of the tank. The fish will find it. Don't leave it more than 24 hours or it will make a big mess in your tank. I take frozen petite peas, put 20 or 30 in a glass coffee mug, add an inch or 2 of water, then microwave for a minute. Drain it, then shell the peas by squeezing them to get the soft, middle part. Then just drop some in the tank. My male betta loves his peas, as do some of the plecos and the farlos and the sewellia lineolata (loaches). Good luck.
