Setting up a Lake Malawi Tank

Cool. Nice to see some life in the tank finally :raspberry:

Ok, so this little buggers do NOT want to hold still, but I got a couple shots of the ones I wonder the most about..one is just so small I wasn't sure if maybe because I haven't seen one this young? Anyway, these are the ones I questioned myself once home.

They definately looked mixed. No telling what sort of temperament they'll have.

I'll certainly help with your sump. Should be a snap to modify from salt.
Thanks Afro! It was never used actually, I made it and got the protein skimmer and the rio 800 to feed it was getting ready to order the overflow and mag for it...then I had to move and never got to set it up. So I figured I'd use it for this.

The 2 new pics ain't labs G (sorry!).

The more yellow fellow has a lot of kenyi to him. I will have to have a look around about the other guy and see what he is.

That is what I was afraid of...well, I'll just give them a call tomorrow and tell them that the guy must of caught a couple wrong ones and take them in for trade.:)

Well, I just called them and they said it would be no problem so Wed I'm going to take them up there and trade them in. First he tried to say something about they just haven't had time to color up..but when I told him the lips and stuff look more Kenyi, he went into how well, they hybrinaize sometimes and blah, blah...I was like can I just bring them back and trade them for different ones, I have a certain look I am going for with the tank and I really want yellow labs. LOL, he was like sure no problem. Ya'll are great..see now I sounded like I knew exactly what I was talking about, not just some blond getting fish LMAO!!!:)

Oh...btw, here is what the tank looks like right now! Will be moving things around I'm sure, not sure I'm happy with it but I figured I'd show ya a full tank shot (yes, I still have my fish pics on it..figured I'd leave em and take off the ones I get as I get them)

Looks nice! The next time you get cicchlids, get them from a species only tank unless if you know for sure if they are the right species. Love the Vals BTW!

Well, the problem is David..there are no "species only" tanks there. Their fish really do look nice, but they have them mixed..most are very young like the ones I have then they have a few bigger ones in other tanks.

Thanks though, after I got the Vals out...I realized he had actually given me 4 Vals instead of 3!!! I thought that was pretty sweet!
