The Ahli is pretty mild tempered. I keep one with yellow labs and they do well together. He should do fine with the planned stock.

As far as feeding Africans this is what I do. I have a good staple pellet food. I use NLS(NewLifeSpectrum)

I also use HBH http://www.hbhnet.com/Products/africanattack1.htm
I use these daily...I use mostly NLS but sometimes run out and have to use the HBH as back up. I also use a homemade frozen food...(You can find the recipe in my signature). This recipe was made exclusively for my Africans and my goldfish....although I feed it to all my fish on ocassion. I also feed frozen brine shrimp as well as live mealworms.

Now I feed the Pellets daily. I feed the frozen in addition to the pellet food on Mon, Wed, and Sun. I feed a smaller portion of pellet on these days. My Africans don't eat (fasting day) on Tue. which is also tank cleaning day. I will feed the live and frozen Brine shrimp on occasion once a week or so.

In conclusion I would feed a good quality staple food and supplement with a schedule that fits your lifestyle....that is my two cents worth!

The Ahli should be fine (they are in fact Lake Malawi btw so you're still good there). Don't add another though, or anymore larger haps.

All looking good G - coming together nicely.
