I have 1 young female severum in a 29gal for the time being, until a 125gal is cycled. I have 3 green barbs in another tank, with a bunch of other tropicals, barbs, tetras, platties etc..... They are getting beat up by a 4 inch rainbow shark, bad! I have tiger barbs and they're not getting touched, only the greens are getting the abuse. Now can i put them in with severum until my 125gal is cycled. Was also thinking about mixing my tropicals in the 20gal and the 29gal which will free up the 45hgal which means i'll have to move severum. Need some ideas hlp plzzz
My tanks..
125gal - Not done
55gal - 2(3" Male Convicts) - 1(2" Jack Dempsey) - 1(2" Fire Mouth) - 1(7" Common Pleco) - 2(3" Clown Loaches) - 1(4" Rainbow Shark).
45Hgal - 12(Tiger Barbs) - 7(Lemon Tetras) - 4(Red Platties) - 4(Red Tetras) - 3(Black Neon Tetras) - 3(Green Barbs) - 1(4" Rainbow Shark) - 1(Albino Barb) - 1(Corey) - 1(Common Pleco) - 1(Talking Cat).
29gal - 1(4" Severum).
20gal - Cleaned, cycled, empty (Spot, the green puffer, RIP)
10gal - 5(Rasboras) - 2(Dwarf Platties)

The severum will eat fish for dinner. I would say it all depends on size. If it looks, and moves like food, it will be. I have over 20 severums at the moment and I do feed them guppies.

i got a male (same size) and stuck him in there, things we're kinda rough at first but She is settling down. Seems like he always wants to be by her, she just nips him away is that normal. There is a 4-5 inch rainbow red in there think i will be moving him. He is a *******. also there is a common pleco and a rapheal cat in there too.

Oh yea, my female is going up and down the tank. Ever since i added the male she has been going up down up down up down you get the picture, how do stop that.

She is mad that her space has been invaded. He is trying to "warm" her up, if you know what I mean. It will be up to her if she is a player. Give them a week or so and see how they are interacting. They should warm up to each other. It is always good to have several severums together if you want them to pair up. That way you have a better chance. The pleco and the cat can stay, but you are pushing your limit on fish for a 29 gallon. Severums like alot of room.

Are you planing on turning the 125 gallon into a severum tank?

I put the severums in a 45gal with the pleco, cat and 1 male convict. I might be putting him back though, in the 55gal. I put all my tropicals in the 29gal an some in the 20gal, left pleco and cat in 45gal then added cichlids all at same time 2sevrums from 29gal and 1 male convict from my 55gal was getting picked on by another larger male.

My severums have been breeding for like 6 months now how can i get the babies to stay alive. The tank is mixed with africans....I was planning on transfering the babies and the parents into a 36 gallon tank do you think that would work.

2 adult sevs in a 45gal is tight never mind having a common plec and a convict in there with it. I breed my sevs in a 75 and at times that seems to small. The sevs will fight with each other when spawning and raising fry and the smaller tank only makes it worse.
