Sewellia lineolatas are breeding

So I did my weekly water change today around 3pm. I decided I was going to take some photos of the loaches tonight and found they were breeding! Not sure how long they've been breeding but it's the first I saw today. At first, I thought the male was just chasing them but he hooked a female and a bunch of eggs flew everywhere in the tank as they were swimming around the filter output. Saw it happened twice and amazed how small the eggs are. I hope some survive. I have my camera set up to record but so far, nothing on video yet. I'll try to get one and post it up . I tried photos but too fast. I'm going to turn off the powerhead so it doesn't kill the eggs. At least I know some will survive.


Why do my fishes always decide to breed when I plan to sell them? Makes me want to keep them.

I know but I am going overseas so I'll have to ask my brother or parents to take care of them if I decide not to sell them.

I have two very short videos, so far, of them breeding. Will try to upload by tonight but I'm still watching the other videos to see if there is anymore.

Ok. These two videos are very short so you may have to re-play to actually see them. I turned on the powerhead again as they stopped when I turned it off. Ignore the algae as I've been too busy to try and scrub off the algae on the viewing glass wall.

First video has the loaches at the left corner and the second video has them in the middle. I think they are the same female but not too sure as he looks to be chasing the other one which looks to be another female.

Have any of you successfully spawned Sewellia over a long period of time (i.e. several years)? Mine spawned like crazy last year over the period of a couple months, then nothing since. Just curious if They will spawn again. I've heard of this happening to a few people so I thought I'd throw it out there.
