sex id on rams pls

I found the text below on http://www.thekrib.com/Apisto/P-ramirezi-faq.html

"Sexing rams is not difficult as they do show a reasonable amount of sexual dimorphism. The first several spines of the dorsal fin or "crest" of the males are longer than those of the females. Males also tend to be a little larger than females. Females on the other hand tend to be fuller in the abdomen and exhibit a bright red coloration in this area when in breeding condition."

I think the first pic is a male and the 2nd pic is of a female. What are your thoughts?

thanks, the pictures helped abit

trying to get better picsj for you guys.

the confustion is this...

was told that a male has longer "Dorsal fin" (the first few ones are longer)
but the one the everyone points out to be a female is the one with the longer first dorsal fin..

second. in another site, was told that the male has its "caudal fin" (tail) with sharp ends (shape like a "c" if the fish is facing towards the left) but both of those in my tank has "rounded tails" which means acourding to that site their both females...

I'll keep working on getting better pics.
Thanks for your patients on this.

I agree with you I thought the female was the first and the male the second but I am no expert and my two look just like yours. I guess we may have to wait and see. Let me know if you work it out.

A fairly simple fool proof way I picked up on another forum, posted up by a woman who goes by the handle of 2la and is very, very experienced-

View the black 'spot' on the side of the Ram. If the spot contains the blue flecking seen on the rest of the body, it's female. If there is no flecking inside the spot, it is male.
