Should I Switch to SALT??

How high is "way high" ? ...as long as the change is gradual, I wouldn't worry about it.

2 tsp/gallon is what the Ich article suggests, so I'd stick with that level.
 
My Ph stays around 7.4-7.6 on it's own so I think you will be ok. I have used the salt and heat method for ICH and I will agree it works so much better than chemicals. It seemed to be more gentle on the fish as well. Hope it does good for you.
