I've read several times that you shouldn't keep different colors of neocaridina together (cherries, snowballs, yellows etc.), because they will hybridize. What are the problems if this happens? Is it just a color mutation issue?

most of the colors are a result of selective breeding, where breeders bred similar colored species until they had a true color.
If they are all allowed to interbreed they will revert to their natural coloration..
A red shrimp, and a blue shrimp wont make a purple baby shrimp..

What is the wild/natural coloration? Just curious, I don't think I've ever seen it before.
Its variable, some are brownish, some speckled, some are reddish some are brown. They are very neat, but not as "desirable" as the true color strains.
