I've had my calvus for a few months. They are believed to be a male and a female, and their behavior goes along with this because they are in a 29 and NEVER fight. During the summer, I saw the female quite a bit, and the male occasionally. But they never showed any pairing behavior, and almost zero interaction. They definitely are breeding size. Now, I rarely ever see either. The male won't even come out to eat when I am around. Absolutely nothing could possibly have changed since the last time they were active, from stock, to decor, etc.
I have also noticed that my brevis in the same tank are hiding much more than before, and the one definite pair that I had no longer live in the same shell.
I am very nervous about this. The cories that are in there have not changed, however. The tank is in a relatively secluded area, so they are not stressed by people/other animals.
Is there anything that could possibly cause the lack of pair bonding and shyness in both species? If so, is there a way to correct this? Thanks.
