Who else here keeps and raises them like me?? I have 2 that I adore as my favorite fish like the clownknife. Please post pics if you have some.
How do you plan on keeping it from jumping out?Arowana pond is on the list of wants for the next house (I like Koi but think an Arowana pond would be much cooler) The pond is a shoe in, it's whether I get my way with the Arowana or not that's up in the air. I too would like to see pics!
It can be done. I know a few friends who keep arapaimas in their ponds as well. Use floating plants as this is the first step to discourage jumping. Screens will also work. There is one arapaima pond in my area that has been barricaded by a fence as was shown in a pic in my local forum. The presence of tree branches, more often than not, can encourage them to jump so this should be avoided. There is one friend whose brother raises arapaimas and he lowered the water level to prevent them from jumping out. The pond was 15 feet deep I think. How do you plan on keeping it from jumping out?
How do you plan on keeping it from jumping out?
My LFS just got two 5-6 inch Silver Aro's in. He's selling them for 35 dollars a piece. I've always wanted one.
How long have you kept yours in your 150? How much longer do you think it will last?
I'm looking to get a 150 myself, but figured it was too small for Arowanas, as they'd outgrow it fast.
