simply annoying and wont listen

You could give her an old filter that you don't use anymore and 10 dollars for a 10 gallon tank at wal-mart. It won't solve the problem, but it will postpone it until she might get bored of the fishes and give them to you or the pet store she got it from.

Or, you could whack her with a stick.

;-) still liking the stick whacking idea! i printed off a load of cycling stuff, goldie care etc, and gave it to her,i got most of the info off here. i see her at pre-school while dropping my kids off btw, that how i know her. she said thanks and did start reading it while we were waiting for the kids to go in-so fingers crossed everyone! will be seeing her again in couple hours, will update on the progress...

Sadly enough i hope the fish stink really bad and die. Leading them to frustration where they wont want a tank anymore. This stopping the future fish killing due to there ignorance. But most likely they will just keep buying more and complaining to some poor employee about there terrible fish they sell..

if she reads your info sheets and still doesn't listen, then just wash your hands of her. there's only so much you can do. wait quietly in case she has more problems, and then if she comes to you again, ask her if she followed any of the advice you've already given her. don't help her unless she is helping herself first.

:iagree: I think you have done more then enough to try and help her and those fish. Unfortunately, people don't treat fish like they do other pets. Hopefully she will keep the handouts and use them and even if she doesn't right away, at least she has them if things start to really go down hill and she realizes what she's doing isn't working.

:headbang2::headbang2::headbang2:success, she has rang her hubby and told him she wants a bigger tank, she is taking her 3 common goldies back to the shop tonight and buying a 10gallon(not huge but better than what she has), using some of my substrate and media to kick start the cycle and buying a filter and a heater coz she likes the idea of having some platies. im so proud of me,and i will be helping her out every step of the way :) lets just hope those little goldies end up in a big pond somewhere!
