Sorry...I shouldn't have used a common name.

Mosquitofish is a common name for both Heterandria formosa and Gambusia affinis...the former is smaller, maxing out at 1" but usually less.

Heterandria formosa is commonly known as the least killifish. Males top out at about 1/4" and females get 3/4-1".
