Snail for small tank with betta?

I had african dwarf frogs and bettas in about 3-5 gallon tanks. In my 29 gallon I have around 8 female bettas and 5 african dwarf frogs. If size of the tank is making them not fight, than you can rule that out. But they never fight and they eat side by side whenever I feed the tank. They roam around and haven't had one AFD or a female betta die.

2.5 is enough room in my opinion for a betta and a ADF, can always stick in some cherry red shrimps. But some say they are notorious for killing them, I get the opposite going on in my tank.

Ithink in a 2.5g tank its going to be up to the temperament of the betta whether any other small critter will work. I have one betta who eats or attacks every shelled thing put in the tank. I have another that doesn't look twice at snails or shrimp. You could give it a try with a snail (preferably a smaller species like the spixi or common ramshorns) and see how it goes. The problems also with keeping mystery snails with a betta who it aggressive to it, the snail may not come out to feed, leading to starvation and death. Also, most people will agree that 2 gallons+ is the recommended amount of space for a single full grown mystery snail as they are heavy eaters and heavy waste makers. Hope this helps

I agree that mystery snails are a bit dirty, but I still believe they are compatible.

All fish have their own personalities, see if your betta is tolerant.

Thanks for everyone's responses - this has been very helpful. I think we'll wait on a snail until we can get another (larger) tank. I have a feeling our betta is too territorial to coexist peacefully with a snail. He's pretty feisty.

Oh - lol! I know, I know. We BOTH want a larger tank(s)! Hopefully not too much longer...
