I had to keep my tank's water level down 2" so mine wouldn't get out. Once I realized how large they really got, I found him a new home.
Those who have only HOB filters, with the most of these, some effective flow/filtering is lost, or better yet lowered to some ineffective filtering.I had to keep my tank's water level down 2" so mine wouldn't get out. Once I realized how large they really got, I found him a new home.
I doubt somewhat that its a cut somewhat other then possibly became somewhat disfigured. the only thing you can do from this point is monitor the eel and try to feed it some wide variety sea foods in which includes squid and crab.when i was looking at him i noticed that he had a gash on the side of his head form probably jumping out can i treat it with anything or should i let nature takes its course.
It is not a good idea to hand feed even a SFE, for even its bite could be something painful.Does yours eat from your hand?
That is because it sees a huge dark shadow moving nearer and is why it backs away. And what the long clear plastic tube does is becomes invisible in the water.i tried that but he backs away so i use a long clear tube that i stuff the end of it with food.
I used this for many years myself and which is more ideal for young juvenile species as well as dwarf eels in general.so the tube method makes me feel safer
The majority of this is mostly done at night, when the tank is dark. Have any of you ever wondered why most carpet surfing eels happen late at night?just wait til hes swiming around that tank, that means hes hungry searching for food
