For one thing usually when one answers as you do their young and head strong and not answer right away as you been doing. For as well, there are many who are your own age and behave as they not need to be advised of anything. Now I told you of the system you have and its bio load, its not just for what you have and yet you yourself not even say anything on that which is like your not want to see some one post something in which is so negative to what your doing.
This is one of the biggest problems in trying to assist on eels in general of the hobbyist tank and inhabitants. But then again now, your hearing nothing from the others here on your tanks bio load and the type of filtration you have. I said it before, and I will say it again, the skimmer you have for the tank size and bio load wont do.
As for a fresh sea food market in your area, I no idea in where you live, I will tell you that you can search this again on the net, meaning the Internet>
If you think im stabbing at you I will not answer anything further on the eel with you. You on the other hand not giving so many straight answers to my questions and had changed your story on one. So with that happening, how can any one assist you?
Why are you saying "still no idea of its actions and if there really is a health problem or not."
Here we are again, I told you that you had this eel for three years that you should had learned something from watching its movements and behavior
Also, when was the last time the eel feed? For your saying it not look well>
Explain this one. I've had him for 3yrs. In the past say 2weeks his actions have changed and his look has.
I would be very happy to explain as much as you like me too, only im not knowing what is the real deal here with you for eels, they for one thing are the most hardy marine species one can own. I will tell you as much that high nitrates for the long term affects their appetite and as is, you been feeding only two types of foods all that time you had the poor thing. And also the skimmer you have with the tanks bio load is not justified/sufficient.
You say it moved out and to the top the tank, your other fish here like the triggers for one thing and the sfe hasn't as far you know been getting nip at? Also depending on the trigger sizes and good hiding places, the eel could be feeling intimidated.
So was the eel 8-9" when you first gotten it? For even if it was 7" and now you say the eel is 14"

You had stunt growth the eel, it should be if was first 8" nearer to 2.5'. but it should been already larger then 2'
You had this eel half the time others had theirs that grown to 3.5' or more in 5.5 to 6 years :headshake2:
Also on the thing were you say to explain why after three years the eel be acting sick like, I said this time and time again that eels suffer the longest to were your fish can die in a few days, the eel depending on the situation can hang in there for many months >
