So who runs an under gravel filter here?(Also post your filtration setups)

I forgot my other tanks filtration

20 gallon with an AC70
15 gallon with an AC50
2!- 10 gallon tanks with marineland eclipse 1 hoods (Love them)
And a 10 gallon fry tank with 2 aqua tech 5-15 filters with sponge pre filters for the babies.

The 55 gallon has an eheim 2215 an aquaclear 110 a Top Fin 60 HOB and an under gravel filter. Also a coral life 18 watt twist hooked up to the eheim I am waiting on some parts for it right now though. (the coral life twist)

I run a few tanks with UGF and rfug.. the UGF have power heads(1140) on each end of the plate.. this is a 55. it is planted but not heavily planted and most of the plants are rhizome plants(java ferns, bolbitus, etc)
there are a few crypts in the tank .

these tanks are the cleanest tanks I have.. run with over HOB's rrated for larger tanks.

I am getting ready to set up a new tank and was thinking about using a ugf filter then running a canister filter with it. I was going to tee off the main suction line and run a line into each of the tubes coming off the ugf then having one coming down in the middle of the tank so it can pull from both above the gravel and under the gravel. Can anyone tell me if this will work?

RUGFs use power heads or canisters to drive water down the uplift tubes, under the plates and back up thru the substarte. This keeps debri from being trapped in it. Less gravel vac required.

i looked into this whole reverse undergravel thing myself a little while ago and was sold on it. i bought the cheap, flat-plate undergravel filter, made by lee's i believe. currently, reading on powerheads and pumps is the last step. its air driven at the moment, still not decided on what pump to get.

Yep, then you can use another filter (I've used HOBs) to filter out the debris from the water column.

It's actually pretty simple. All you need is a reversible powerhead...
