Some of my Planted Ripariums

I got some more pictures of my 50-gallon setup tonight. Here is a quartering view from above.

Here is the full-tank shot.

I really need to paint the wall. I don't have the best of luck with my camera's white balance settings and that cream wall color is always off.

Thanks Big Mike. I am liking this one better now that I got the underwater plants in there. I chose that Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia because it has the long leaf petioles, so the nice rocks are not covered with foliage.

Awesome as usual!! What's that plant with the pink veining?

Thanks Ika4040. That plant is a good one, Cyrtosperma johnstonii. It belongs to an unusual group of wet habitat tropical aroids. Here are some other views.

Incredible! Is that a cultivar, or is naturally patterned? What an interesting plant.

That last one is amazing. Thanks for the info.

Hey if you like plants and especially weird tropical stuff you oughta check out the International Aroid Society...

Aroid.org

Their meetings and shows (usually in Florida) are great places to see and acquire rare and unusual aroids. The newsletter and annual journal publication have a lot cool scientific information.

Two of the most popular groups of aquarium plants, Cryptocoryne and Anubias, are aroids.
