some questions about angels

Yes, part of the nippiness has to do with the disposition of the particular fish..some evenwithin the tiger barb species are timid.

any time you mix species you should kep an eye on them.
many times all is well..
I know I keep angels with discus and have heard all the warnings..but mine do quite well and have been together for 2 years(raised together)

the barbs ive seem are very red, kind of a dark red. the have a black spot on their side towards their backfin. they have flowing and lack finnage. are these rosys?? because I like them and wouldnt mind putting a few in the tanks. they have some in a display tank at the LFS we frequent and they have grown quite a bit in the show time weve been going there. they look very nice.

yep they're rosies, the really red ones are males, females tend towards yellowish coloration and a deeper/plumper body shape. (females are often culled out by the breeders and sold as feeders when they are small)

there cool. the display tank they have them in must be about 60-80 gallons. lots of driftwood with java fern, a few plants and eco complete substrate. looks really good. in fact that pretty much the look were trying for with our tank. I may have to look into some rosies, if the GF likes them :)
