hello,
i'm switching from a 55g saltwater tank to a 125g freshwater in the near future. i'm just sick of always having to be doing something to the tank, wether it's dosing, replacing lights, cleaning, worrying about water changes, etc. plus just the maintenance is pretty expensive. anyway, i'm having trouble deciding on what i want to put in the 125g. i like the bigger predator fish, but it makes stocking a problem. i really like the freshwater barracuda, but i also want to get an eel. i really like the looks of the freshwater moray(gymnothorax tile), but that's brackish. so i'm having trouble deciding what i want to do, fresh or brackish. i'm also having trouble finding info on the eel and on the cudda. with brackish, the choices i'm finding for fish are pretty limited, unless i'm looking in the wrong places.
if i went with the barracuda, what could i put in with it? i like the tire track eel, too, but from what i've read it's hit or miss as to if it will get along with other fish. could i put discus in with the cudda? please forgive the newbie questions, i just want to make absolutely sure i'm going the best route and know everything i can about what i'm getting. i had a couple of fun times getting fish out of my 55g cause they caused trouble(which i didn't think they would, from what i read on them).
for the cudda, i was looking at either the Falcatus or the Hujeta. if i go brackish, i like the looks of the G. Tile, would that be ok with a figure 8 puffer?
this tank won't even be set up for another month or there abouts, so it will be quite a while before i even think of buying any of these guys. i plan on using a sump filtration method and using my RO/DI for the water. any help would be great, or even maybe showing me where i can get more info on these buggers.
