Soo's 1st reef 90G build

I can second the Corallife Superskimmer...I have the 225 and it works well. At least it constantly pulls black gunk out of my tank:crazy:. I don't think they are the top of the line, but I feel like I really have gotten my money's worth out of it.
The MJ mods are great too. I modded two of mine and love them. The flow increase is impressive....I picked mine up off of eBay-they came with everything including the mounting bracket.
I am a VW nut, btw. 63 ragtop Beetle, 73 Thing, 78 Super Beetle 'vert, 70 Beetle, and about 1600 VW models/toys/memorabilia.....I hear the first step is to admit you have a problem....:D

heres a pic and a link http://www.tritonaquatics.com/ this guy is the inventor of the gulfstream and the cheapest to get it.

Thanks so much for the link... will be ordering a couple of kits with magnetic mounting brackets asap!

Robbie!

Been following your thread, love your tank! Great that you took over your brother's love :)
Does your skimmer create a lot of micro bubbles?! Mine's been pretty bad so have had to shut it off for the time being... any tips?!

Sounds like you're completely absorbed in the world of air cooled vw's!!! have you ever come up to Canada for the "June Jitterbug"?! TONS of aircooled there... but have recently been taking in a lot of notable water cooled vw's. I myself have owned quite a few dubs. Sold my 16v 92 gti about 3 years ago and now playing with a 96 jetta glx, which I just supercharged. :) Crazy addiction!

Sorry about the lack of updates, been pretty busy... but a few pics to come!

So after complete teardown (rock wise), i've come up with an aquascape that i'm quite happy with... FINALLY!!!

It was tough on one side of the tank, because I wanted it to look great from the front as well as the side... so here's what I came up with. Please excuse the micro bubbles, need to figure this problem out.

I bought some aquarium epoxy to make the centre piece, honestly didn't think it would cure strong enough... but the stuff works great!

Really nice rock formations. Looking great.

Thanks Mandy!

Got some livestock over the past week... started with some oscellaris clowns.
One of the gave me a scare, played the disappearing act for a day... was used to seeing them together ALL the time, but they're both together now and seem super happy!

Kinda went a little crazy with some "newbie" corals today... everything seems to have opened up quite nicely... mushrooms and leather are taking a little while, but are much more open now then when I took these pics!

No need to be concerned about the leathers if it has been only few days. I bet it has opened up even more by now. Keep the toadstool in a medium to high flow.. which seems to be the case already.

Great looking setup. I like the rockscaping.

What is the microbubble maker? Is it a return from skimmer?

A superb reef in the making here...really impressive and the rock work, stock etc look excellent..Keep up the hard work and devotion, its really paying off for you...Look forward to seeing more updates as this progresses. I agree with Dustin, i would not worry too much about the leather, they do sometimes take a while to get settled in a new setup...
